Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Medicines Safety Team at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH). Applications are invited from enthusiastic and motivated Nurses , Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
We are looking for an candidate with a vested interest in patient safety, to join us in ensuring the safe use of medicines at every stage of the patients journey in GMMH.
The post holder will work closely with the Medication Safety Officer (MSO) as well as being an integral member of the Trust Medication Safety Group.
In addition to governance, the role involves a clinical aspect associated as per relevant clinical registration, in order to experience front line services first-hand.
The Pharmacy Department at GMMH has over 70 members of staff, distributed over a number of sites. We are a friendly, supportive and dedicated team, so now is great time to join us as we continue our commitment to patient and medicines safety, inclusive of all services across the Trust.
The post holder will support the Medication Safety Officer (MSO) in reviewing medicines incidents in accordance with the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and in line with the Trust Patient Safety Incident Reporting Plan (PSIRP).
Having great inter-personal skills, they will support the MSO in disseminating learning shared from incident reviews, identify medicines safety issues from national guidance and embedding into clinical practice.
Taking a lead in preparation for the Medicines Safety Group, including analysis of data from the Trust incident management system, providing data interpretation and preparing reports as appropriate to a wide variety of staff groups, is key to the role.
