Summary

Band 5 Staff Nurses – Emergency Department, Wexham Park Hospital

Are you a compassionate, motivated nurse ready to make a difference? Join our Emergency Department at Wexham Park Hospital, where we see around 12,000 patients each month, from minor injuries to critically unwell cases.

We’re looking for enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurses—newly qualified nurses are very welcome! You’ll be supported through a supernumerary period, structured in-house training, and our comprehensive Preceptorship Programme, with ongoing professional development to help you thrive.

Work as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, take responsibility for your own areas of practice, and gain hands-on experience across a diverse patient mix. If you’re committed, eager to learn, and passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, this is the perfect opportunity to start or grow your career with us.

The post-holder will deliver safe, high-quality and evidence-based nursing care to patients within a multidisciplinary team. They will communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues to ensure continuity of care and a positive patient experience.

They will support the shift leader by maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring patients closely and reporting any changes in condition promptly. The role also involves collaborating with medical and allied health professionals, advocating for patients, and ensuring care is aligned with Trust policies, safeguarding requirements and NMC standards.

The post-holder will contribute to maintaining a safe environment by ensuring equipment is clean, functional and used appropriately, and by adhering to health and safety, infection prevention and risk-reporting procedures. They will also take part in clinical governance, audit and service development activities.

Supporting learning within the department is an important part of the role, including guiding junior staff and students and helping to foster a positive learning environment. The post-holder will develop extended clinical skills in line with service needs and Trust training pathways.

They are expected to contribute to achieving departmental objectives, assume delegated leadership responsibilities when required, and maintain continual professional development to meet NMC and Trust competency requirements.

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is committed to being an inclusive and disability confident employer and has been awarded the Gold for the Armed Forces Employment Recognition Scheme.
