Summary
You will be based within our kinship fostering assessment team and will be responsible for undertaking connected persons assessments and overseeing a team of social workers carrying out viability and full connected assessments. You will also have responsibility for undertaking supervision with some non-social work qualified staff.
We are seeking an enthusiastic person who has excellent inter-personal and communication skills to inspire and support staff, foster carers and supported lodgings providers, to help us to achieve excellent care placements and good outcomes for children.
We are looking for someone who has a good level of experience of working with children who are looked after and with foster carers. You should have an excellent knowledge base in particular about kinship care and the kinship strategy as well as fostering regulations and standards, child development, trauma, attachment and loss. You should have excellent assessment skills, organisational skills, good recording ability and be able to work within tight timescales.
Our ASW’s have a developmental role, supporting and mentoring colleagues to enhance quality of practice, co working with colleagues to unpick complex family dynamics and working with families to be able to best meet their needs
