We are currently looking for dedicated Joiners to join our Housing Standards Construction Team. This team is focused on Maintenance, major Improvements and new Builds across the county, ensuring that our housing stock remains in excellent condition.





About the Housing Standards Construction Team:

Our team is responsible for maintaining, adapting and constructing of properties for the Council’s social housing portfolio. We ensure these homes meet current statutory, regulatory, and legislative standards, providing safe and high-quality living conditions for tenants.



The Role:

As a Joiner within our Housing Standards Construction team, your core responsibility will be to carry out major improvements, adaptations and work on new builds. The majority of the properties you will work on will be untenanted.





Key Responsibilities:

Perform domestic joinery and associated repairs
Maintain accurate records of work completed and equipment used
Adhere to Health and Safety standards and safe working practices
Participate in mandatory training and skills development
Carry out repairs in other associated trades, such as plumbing


You will be provided with a vehicle and will be responsible for performing daily safety checks and ensuring compliance with vehicle maintenance requirements.



What You’ll Bring:

We are looking for candidates who possess:

Relevant qualifications and experience with all aspects of construction work including 1st and 2nd fix Joinery.
A strong understanding of Health & Safety and Building Regulations
Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers
Knowledge of other trades (e.g., plumbing) would be advantageous
Availability to participate in an out-of-hours emergency service on a rota basis
