We are committed to excellent student support, innovative teaching, and partnerships with the NHS and industry. This fixed-term post offers an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team dedicated to pedagogic innovation, programme enhancement, and providing an outstanding student experience. Aston University offers a supportive environment for teaching-focused staff, including opportunities for pedagogic research, leadership development, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

The post-holder will contribute to teaching and assessment across undergraduate and postgraduate Biosciences programmes. Responsibilities include leading and teaching modules, curriculum development, academic and pastoral support, and quality assurance processes. The role also involves pedagogic scholarship, external engagement activities, and participation in School citizenship, such as open days and committees. This maternity-cover post provides a chance to shape and enhance the student learning experience.

Candidates must hold a relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification (or HEA Fellowship) with proven experience in high-quality teaching and assessment within Biosciences. Applicants should have strong communication and organisational skills, experience using VLEs such as Blackboard, and the ability to apply pedagogic research to teaching practice. Experience in designing practical classes, delivering teaching in areas such as Haematology, Transfusion Science, Microbiology, Physiology, or Anatomy, and supporting external engagement activities would be advantageous.

A satisfactory DBS clearance is required for this role.
