Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our busy and dedicated Private Sector Housing Team. We are a relatively large team delivering a wide range of services that integrate public and private sector partners, creating a bottom-up approach to supporting neighbourhoods offering real help where it is needed through the empty homes programme, an innovative home improvement agency, landlord enforcement, selective and HMO licensing, the Good Landlord and Agent Accreditation scheme and energy efficiency improvements.

Burnley Council’s Home Improvement Agency (HIA) is dedicated to helping older, disabled and vulnerable residents across the borough to live safely and independently in their own homes. We are in search of a dedicated and highly organised Home Improvement Agency Support Officer to join our team. Your role will primarily involve administrative support, including managing client records, scheduling appointments, and assisting with general office tasks to help our agency run smoothly.

You must have experience of working in an administrative section of an organisation and of dealing with customers in person, in writing and on the telephone. You must have the ability to work as part of a team and maintain accurate records.

If you meet the essential criteria and feel you have the passion and desire to work with us, we would love to hear from you. We can offer you a diverse and interesting challenge. We value our employees and offer a generous pension scheme, holiday entitlement and work/life balance initiatives.

For an informal discussion on the content of the job description or person specification, please contact Paul Walker, Home Improvement Agency Manager on 01282 475934.
