Summary

DWP’s Marketing Team use evidence, insight and expertise to deliver effective and innovative marketing strategies and campaigns. Our marketing campaigns address complex challenges to maintain trust and influence audience behaviour either directly or by increasing engagement with DWP’s policies and services.

Our key role is to deliver joined-up strategic communications activity both across government and within DWP to support the Department to achieve its core goals that ladder up to the Government’s Growth and Opportunity Missions outlined in the Plan for Change.

As Videographer, you will be responsible for bringing DWP’s creative video strategy to life and producing organic and paid content for our social media channels within the Marketing Team.

You will create engaging and high-quality content that communicates departmental policy and ministerial priorities. You will report to the Video Team Manager.

You will:

  • Play a key role in storytelling how DWP supports millions of people, making the most of internal and external case studies to bring our work to life.
  • Remain calm and effective under pressure, delivering high-quality video content to tight deadlines and adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Be confident at dealing with senior people and know when to take charge of a situation to get the job done. You will also have a can-do attitude and a flair for making great creative content.
  • Plan, develop, and deliver end-to-end video content in partnership with colleagues and stakeholders - from initial concept, scripting, and storyboarding through to editing and final delivery.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to strategically shape a diverse range of content, including ministerial visit coverage, powerful case studies featuring claimants, employers, and staff, as well as content for public-facing campaigns.
  • Bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to producing both reactive and planned video content that clearly communicates departmental priorities.

Responsibilities will be:

  • Travelling up and down the country on a weekly basis capturing ministerial content, case studies, influencers, ’always on’ digital content and DWP staff.
  • This is a fast-paced and hands-on position with frequent overnight filming trips, and you must be able to work and travel well under pressure and edit to tight deadlines, as well as respond quickly to short notice requests.
  • Produce creative, accessible video content designed to resonate with audiences and support DWP’s strategic communications goals.
  • Shape and deliver compelling video content that communicates government and departmental policy, including the creation of concepts, content strategies, and pitch materials.
  • Work collaboratively across the DWP Communications Directorate, partnering with functional experts to deliver cohesive, multi-channel campaigns.
