Job description

To promote my independence, support me with trying new activities and help me with things I enjoy.

About me
I am seeking a Personal Assistant/Companion to support me both in my home and out and about. This includes taking me to leisure facilities, shops and for recreational activities and nature walks.
My hobbies include baking, cooking, going to the cinema, going for nature walks, exercising, swimming, music and art!
I live in a non-smoking household with no pets. A non-smoker is an essential requirement for this role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Supporting me both in my home in Felixstowe and taking me out and about.
Assisting me with activities that I enjoy and supporting me to try new things.

Personal Specification

Essential Criteria
Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
A positive ‘can do’ attitude, empathetic, calm and compassionate.
Organised
Good, clear oral communication skills
Physically fit
Non-smoker
Skilled motivator
Ability to work unsupervised

Desirable Criteria
A good knowledge of autism
Autism training
Experience in a similar role
Interest in art and creative hobbies

Summary terms and conditions
Hours, days and times of work: Up to 13 hours per week. Days and times are flexible and are to be agreed with the employer.
Pay rate: £13.55 per hour
Annual leave: The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement).
Expenses: You will be reimbursed for prior agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
Sick pay: I do not operate a private sick pay scheme but provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
Pension: I do not operate a private pension scheme but I will fulfil my statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme.
