Summary

Our client, a well-established and reputable car dealership in Basingstoke, is actively seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to join their busy Service Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled automotive professional to lead a team, optimise workshop operations, and advance their career within a respected dealership group.

Duties:

- Managing the daily operations of the Workshop Controller role, including overseeing a team of vehicle technicians
- Planning and allocating work efficiently among the team to ensure productivity and customer satisfaction
- Monitoring workshop performance to meet key KPIs and standards
- Liaising with the Aftersales Manager and service team to ensure seamless workflow and customer communication
- Identifying and addressing individual development needs within the team
- Ensuring workshop standards and processes comply with brand and health and safety requirements
- Managing customer vehicle progress and workshop standards in line with dealership policies
- Facilitating effective communication between the workshop and service reception

Candidate Specification:

- Previous experience in a Workshop Controller, Workshop Supervisor, or senior supervisory role within a trade environment
- Strong organisational and leadership abilities
- Good understanding of workshop processes and efficiency management
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members, customers, and management
- Ability to motivate and develop a team to achieve performance targets
- Knowledge of brand-specific service requirements and health and safety standards
