Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher to join our highly committed and successful Design and Technology team from January 2026.

The ability to teach Design and Technology subjects from KS3 to KS5 is desirable.

We welcome applications from early career teachers wishing to gain wide subject experience in their first post or more experienced teachers who are seeking the opportunity to develop their teaching skills. We have the flexibility to accommodate part time to full time.

Four teaching staff deliver KS3, KS4 & KS5 Design Technology and Food Preparation & Nutrition all through AQA exam board. We also have three technicians within the department.

Design Technology is taught to all KS3 students in Year 7 and 8 and we have four classes of students opting to study Design Technology at KS4 each year from Year 9 upwards.

We are fortunate enough to have three workshops, a design room and a food tech room within our department. We also have a wide range of CAD CAM facilities including an A2 laser cutter, two 3D printers and numerous Boxford and Denford CNC machines. We currently use Onshape for our 3D design work.

We are looking for someone who will model a clear vision and demonstrate complete enthusiasm for the development of the curriculum area and specialist activities so that they will get the very best from colleagues and students alike.

You will be passionate about education in general, and about the impact that technologies can have on students and be committed to a shared vision about the future direction of the department.
