Summary
£40,000 - £45,000 DOE
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality standards at a busy food manufacturing site. Within the role you will need to take ownership of the Hitchin site and drive quality standards across the operation. This is a key leadership role, ensuring compliance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop the onsite QA team (Quality Specialists, Lab Team, Hygiene Team).
- Drive quality culture across the operations department.
- Investigate and manage customer complaints - going beyond emails to find root causes and implement solutions.
- Develop and implement the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Manage internal and external audits (including BRC and customer audits).
- Oversee non-conformance reporting and corrective actions.
- Take ownership of incident investigations and ensure robust follow-up.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a Quality Management role within food manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of BRC standards and auditing processes.
- Ability to lead audits independently and confidently.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- A hands-on leader who can inspire and develop teams.
