We are seeking an experienced Domestic Cleaning Supervisor/Auditor for our healthcare division to manage a cleaning team and maintain exceptional service standards. The role involves overseeing the delivery of routine planned and periodic cleaning, ensuring staff adhere to task schedules and Health & Safety procedures. You will provide technical training as required, distribute uniforms, monitor cleanliness standards, manage material usage, and order stock when necessary. Additionally, you will address issues promptly and professionally, escalating to the line manager where appropriate.
A key part of the role includes performing scheduled and ad-hoc cleaning audits in line with the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2025 and Trust policies. You will assess technical cleaning outcomes and processes to ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, document audit findings using approved systems such as Synbiotix, and provide clear feedback to service managers and domestic teams. Collaboration with Infection Prevention & Control teams is essential, along with timely escalation of issues. You will monitor trends, produce reports for Quality & Performance meetings, and support continuous improvement initiatives and training related to cleaning standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience in auditing or quality assurance within healthcare or facilities management, a strong understanding of infection control principles, and excellent attention to detail. Competence in digital audit tools and Microsoft Office Suite, along with effective communication skills, is essential. Desirable qualifications include knowledge of Functional Risk area classifications, cleaning frequencies, and familiarity with NHS compliance frameworks and Health & Safety legislation. Training will be provided on internal supervision and auditing procedures across hospital divisions, and the role will involve regular site visits to wards, theatres, and high-risk areas. We are looking for someone reliable, hardworking, and professional, with previous supervisory and cleaning experience, who can work independently and manage schedules effectively.
