Summary
An opportunity has arisen within our enthusiastic and dedicated Cancer Services team for a Appointments Coordinator.
We are looking for an exceptional individual with excellent interpersonal skills, good organisational skills and a real passion for delivering a high
quality patient experience. You will need to be a confident communicator by telephone and have and good aptitude for using IT systems.
This is a varied and interesting role and you will be responsible for the booking of 2WW referrals and oncology referrals coming into the trust. The candidate will be responsible for proactive and efficient organisation of allocated clinics ensuring that patients are booked into the most
appropriate sessions and booked within target.
The post holder is required to provide administrative support within the department, including co-ordinating the first outpatient appointment for suspected cancer referrals within target. Working as part of a team, including clinical staff, the post holder is expected to deliver a responsible and high quality service to patients and other service users.

Manage main administration office telephone and outpatient appointments and dealing with queries demonstrating excellent telephone manner and ability to multi task.
To immediately escalate circumstances where patient’s first clinic appointments cannot be made within 14 days of receipt of 2WW referral.
Ensure patient cancellations and DNAs are dealt with in accordance with Trust Cancer Access policy.
To enter patient’s demographic details and referral details onto the Cancer Database system – Somerset.
Co-ordinate the referral process, issuing appointments, ensuring appointments are correct on PAS and ensuring the necessary paperwork is added to Evolve and Patient Centre.
To be responsible for proactive and efficient organisation of allocated clinics ensuring that patients are booked into the most appropriate sessions
Ensure that 2WW referral letters are processed in a timely manner in accordance with Trust policy.
