Summary

ELECTRICIAN Primary Working Area: Bracknell, Berkshire Position Overview

We require a highly proficient and certified Skilled Electrician to join our team, providing essential services primarily across the Bracknell area. This demanding role centers on electrical safety and compliance, requiring extensive experience in periodic inspection and testing (EICR), alongside executing comprehensive maintenance and installation work within domestic properties.

Core Duties

  • Inspection and Testing Program:

    • Implement and manage the routine five-year cycle of electrical safety inspections across all domestic and communal properties.

    • Produce meticulous Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and promptly carry out all necessary remedial actions to maintain safety standards.

    • Perform initial verification, rigorous testing, and accurate certification for new installations and circuit modifications.

  • Maintenance and Refurbishment:

    • Conduct efficient fault diagnosis and provide timely, effective reactive maintenance services to residents.

    • Complete all electrical work, testing, and certification for vacant properties ("voids") to ensure they are rapidly prepared for new tenants.

    • Support planned capital works, including performing electrical installations for kitchen and bathroom modernisations, and heating system upgrades.

    • Service and upgrade lighting systems in shared and communal areas.

  • Technical and Administrative Compliance:

    • Ensure all work rigorously adheres to the latest 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).

    • Utilise company-approved digital platforms to accurately generate and submit all required electrical certification (NICEIC or equivalent standard).

    • Maintain clear, concise, and complete electronic records of all tests, inspections, and maintenance activities.

Essential Qualifications and Expertise

The following qualifications are mandatory for all applicants:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation/Maintenance (or a formally recognised equivalent apprenticeship/qualification).

  • Current certification to the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382-18 or equivalent).

  • AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2) Certificate - A non-negotiable requirement.

  • Formal qualification in the Inspection, Testing, and Certification of Electrical Installations (e.g., City & Guilds 2391 or the combined 2394/2395 certifications).

  • Proven history of professional electrical maintenance, fault finding, and installation within domestic environments.

  • A current, full UK Driving Licence.

  • Experience within the social housing or facilities management sector is a considerable advantage.
