Summary
Electrician The Opportunity
We are searching for a highly competent and motivated Qualified Electrician to join our property maintenance team, with core duties based around the Winchester district. This is a technical role with a substantial focus on essential electrical safety testing, compliance, and providing prompt, effective maintenance services across our residential property portfolio.
Key Functional Areas-
Safety Inspection & Reporting (EICRs):

Lead the execution of the scheduled 5-year cyclical testing and inspection regime for all domestic dwellings and shared facilities.

Carry out comprehensive Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and implement necessary remedial works efficiently and safely.

Perform initial verification, inspection, and formal testing for all new electrical installations, circuits, and upgrades.

Repairs and Investment Works:
-
Undertake reactive electrical fault-finding and repair assignments as part of our commitment to tenant support.

Complete all necessary electrical tasks for vacant homes (voids) to minimize turnaround time.

Actively participate in planned improvement projects, including electrical fitting during modern kitchen and bathroom installations, and heating system overhauls.

Service, install, and upgrade lighting systems in communal areas.

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:

Accurately complete all requisite legal and organizational certification, specifically utilizing NICEIC-compatible software (or equivalent).

Ensure all installation and maintenance practices strictly align with current IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) and industry best practice.

Maintain detailed and organized electronic records of all inspections, tests, and completed jobs.

Tenant and Customer Focus:

Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and communication when engaging with tenants and internal stakeholders.

Deliver consistent quality of work that meets technical standards and ensures resident satisfaction.

Essential Criteria and Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following strict qualification standards:

Formal qualification or trade apprenticeship leading to NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation/Maintenance.

Current certification to the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382-18 or equivalent).

Valid AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2) Certification - A prerequisite for this position.

A formal qualification in the Inspection, Testing, and Certification of Electrical Installations (e.g., City & Guilds 2391 or the equivalent 2394/2395 units).

A valid, full UK manual Driving Licence.

Demonstrable expertise in electrical fault diagnosis and remedial work within a domestic setting.

Familiarity with the use of electronic certification software (e.g., NICEIC or similar).

Prior experience in the social housing or facilities maintenance environment is beneficial.
