Summary

Electrician Base Location: Fareham, Hampshire The Position

We are seeking an accredited and highly efficient Compliance and Maintenance Electrician to join our technical team, with primary responsibilities centered in the Fareham area. This dynamic role requires a strong testing background to manage our regulatory obligations, alongside providing expert electrical maintenance and installation services within our domestic property portfolio.

Core Areas of Responsibility
  • Safety Compliance & Testing:

    • Manage and implement the routine five-year cycle of electrical inspection and testing across all domestic and communal properties.

    • Produce formal Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and ensure the timely completion of all necessary remedial work to rectify defects.

    • Conduct initial verification and final certification for new electrical works and system modifications.

  • Repairs and Refurbishment:

    • Provide expert fault diagnosis and rapid electrical repair services to address resident issues and maintain safety standards.

    • Execute all electrical works necessary for empty homes (voids) to ensure they meet certification standards for occupancy without delay.

    • Actively participate in capital investment schemes, undertaking electrical installations for major upgrades (e.g., kitchens, heating systems, and bathrooms).

    • Maintain and upgrade communal lighting and power supplies.

  • Administrative and Regulatory:

    • Maintain strict compliance with the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and all relevant legislation.

    • Complete and submit all required electrical certification accurately using the company's approved digital platform (NICEIC or equivalent standard).

    • Ensure all inspection and maintenance records are meticulously maintained.

  • Service Delivery:

    • Interact professionally and courteously with all customers and stakeholders, delivering a high standard of workmanship.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

The successful applicant must hold the following specific and current qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation/Maintenance (or a comparable, recognised trade apprenticeship).

  • Certification for the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382-18 or equivalent).

  • AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2) Certification - Essential for this specialist role.

  • A formal qualification in Electrical Inspection, Testing and Certification (e.g., City & Guilds 2391 or the combined C&G 2394/2395).

  • Proven hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding, and installation in domestic properties.

  • A current, full UK Driving Licence.

  • Prior experience working within a social housing or facilities management environment is highly desirable.

  • Provision of corporate uniform and all necessary PPE.

  • While focused on Fareham, flexibility to cover the wider area (Eastleigh, Southampton, Winchester, Andover, Salisbury) will be required.
