Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons across all Key Stage 1 subjects.
  • Create a stimulating, safe, and engaging classroom environment that promotes excellent behaviour and pupil well-being.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on the progress and attainment of all pupils, identifying and implementing appropriate interventions where necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and the wider school community to share best practice and contribute to school improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding pupil progress, achievements, and well-being.
  • Undertake continuous professional development to enhance teaching and subject knowledge.
  • Contribute to the school's enrichment programme (e.g., after-school clubs, school events).

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and proven experience teaching in Key Stage 1.
  • A deep understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • A genuinely warm, patient, and energetic approach to teaching young children.
  • The ability to inspire, motivate, and manage a classroom of diverse learners effectively.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A proactive and reflective practitioner who is keen to contribute positively to the whole school.
  • Experience in using phonics programmes (e.g., Letters and Sounds, Read Write Inc.) is highly desirable.
