Summary
Innovation Run the programmes discovery/proof of concept/pilot funnel within guardrails; secure partners/funding where applicable. Set pragmatic evaluation frameworks (effectiveness, safety, equity, experience, productivity, value) and provide decision-grade evidence for scale/stop. Manage adoption/scale-up (training, policy/process, digital enablement, supply/contract changes); escalate non-standard terms. Portfolio & Programme Management Produce and maintain high-quality artefacts, gate packs, change controls and versioned documents; ensure audit trails. Define baselines and benefit profiles at initiation; track realisation; conduct post implementation reviews/ evaluations and feed learning into the pipeline. Facilitate workshops and decision forums; establish fit-for-purpose governance aligned to scope and risk; deliver concise, structured briefings. Ensure compliance with IG, clinical safety, procurement and SFIs; prepare for audits and close actions promptly. Improvement Act as method custodian for the assigned area; ensure playbook fidelity (lifecycle, templates, minimum evidence, quality gates). Lead capability building: deliver training, coaching and the champions network; run communities of practice and learning systems. Provide expert coaching on problem definition, PDSA design, measurement for improvement and SPC/run chart interpretation. Promote spread and sustainability; codify change packages, develop control plans/ownership, and verify benefits post-implementation. People Management Line-manage direct reports; set objectives & key results and development plans; ensure supervision and annual appraisal. Coach teams on playbook fidelity (lifecycle, templates, minimum evidence, stage-gates), improvement method, and document quality. Ensure accurate budget forecasting and variance management for the allocated budget. Recruit, induct and develop team members; manage performance where standards or behaviours fall short. Champion EDI and co-production; ensure reasonable adjustments and accessible communications/training in all delivery. Deputise for the 8C as required within delegated limits.
