Lead Maintenance Operative

Dublin 24 - Full time

As the Lead Maintenance Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient running of the site. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, infection control and site security in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring full compliance with COSHH regulations, as guided by the Facilities Manager.
  • Supporting and participating in training for caretaking staff, covering operational, legal, client and service-delivery requirements.
  • Understanding the full scope of the caretaking service offer and delivering all related duties as directed by the Facilities Manager.
  • Responding promptly to faults with cleaning machinery and equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
  • Always using correct safety signage (e.g., wet floor signs) and proactively advising building users of potential hazards.
  • Reporting building defects and completing minor repairs as instructed by the Facilities Manager.
  • Attending team meetings and contributing to a positive, collaborative working environment.
  • Completing all required administrative tasks accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Liaising professionally with designated client contacts, ensuring strong communication and service delivery.
  • Managing stock levels, including ordering and distributing cleaning consumables.
  • Conducting caretaking audits to ensure service standards and compliance are consistently met.
  • Taking part in training and meetings necessary to maintain contract standards—some of which may fall outside normal working hours.
  • Performing any other reasonable duties as directed by the Facilities Manager.
  • Being flexible with working hours to support school events and out-of-hours operational needs.
  • Handle incoming communications and ensure messages are delivered accurately and efficiently.


What you'll bring:

  • Previous experience in a similar client facing role is a plus, but excellent interpersonal and communication skills are the key

  • A positive, energetic and proactive attitude

  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
