Crynodeb

We are looking for enthusiastic pharmacists with demonstrable competencies in hospital pharmacy practice and a commitment to high quality pharmaceutical care to join our team at Harefield Hospital as part of our Advanced Rotational Band 7 Programme.

Harefield Hospital has been recognised as one of the top 100 hospitals in the world for heart services and one of the 10 best hospitals in the UK for cardiology and cardiac services. We are located just inside the M25 near Uxbridge and situated in extensive grounds in the countryside.

The rotational programme offered by the Pharmacy department at Harefield Hospital offers the unique opportunity to gain specialist experience within the fields of cardiovascular medicine closely supported by our expert pharmacists and the wider multidisciplinary team.

As you progress through the programme which includes rotations in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery and transplantation medicine, you will gain the knowledge, skills and experience to develop and prepare you as you look towards credentialing your advanced practice.

This programme builds on the knowledge, skills and experience gained at a foundation level and encourages pharmacists to take an active role in their experiential learning and development.

This programme is aimed at pharmacists with significant hospital experience who have completed their Postgraduate Clinical Diploma (or equivalent) and are looking to develop their skills in specialist areas within cardiovascular medicine.

You will be working closely alongside the multidisciplinary team working in a range of care settings including attendance on the consultant led ward rounds, out-patient clinics and ambulatory services.

As well as delivering clinical pharmacy services, candidates will have the opportunity to undertake Trust-based management courses, team and organisational responsibilities (i.e. staff planning, rostering and business planning), taking on a leadership role (i.e. project supervision, training, mentoring and appraisal of junior staff members) and support service development (i.e. quality improvement, medication safety and financial management).

Please see the attached job description which provides information on our organisation and the programme.
