Hays are currently recruiting for a well-established organisation who are seeking a Contract Payroll Specialist to join their team on a temporary basis to provide sickness cover. The role is a 37.5 hour working week, with flexibility offered on start and finish times. Your new role
As Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and delivering accurate payroll services across the organisation. Working closely with HR, Finance, and wider stakeholders, your responsibilities will include:
- End-to-end payroll processing in line with UK payroll best practice
- Inputting, checking, and reconciling payroll data across multiple systems
- Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements including PAYE, NI, pensions, and holiday pay
- Liaising with employees and managers to resolve payroll queries promptly
- Supporting the refinement of payroll policies and procedures through data analysis
- Assisting with reporting requirements and providing payroll insights to management
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience working in payroll with strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and best practice
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with stakeholders
- Deductive reasoning skills to analyse raw payroll data and improve processes
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask
- A professional approach with accuracy and attention to detail
