Summary

PROJECT COORDINATOR

Kilmarnock | £28,000-£32,000 + Benefits | Full-Time, Permanent
Early Friday finish (1.30pm)

We're recruiting a Project Coordinator to support planning, scheduling and workflow management for a busy engineering operation in Ayrshire. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys organising complex work, coordinating between production and project teams, and ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently and on time.

If you're confident with Excel, enjoy keeping plans up to date, and like being right in the middle of where things are happening, this role will suit you perfectly.

The Role

You will play a key part in supporting production, engineering and project teams by:

  • Creating and maintaining the overall production/resource plan

  • Updating project plans daily (Excel or MS Project)

  • Liaising with supervisors, engineers and project managers to track progress

  • Producing daily/weekly scheduling updates

  • Supporting with task planning, resource allocation and shift progress reporting

  • Reviewing project documentation before start-up and ensuring paperwork is completed post-project

  • Highlighting risks, delays, shortages and potential clashes early

  • Coordinating activities such as equipment movements, scheduling, and safe work sequencing

No two days are the same - you will be right at the centre of a fast-paced engineering environment.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in planning, scheduling, coordination or engineering administration

  • Comfortable working in an engineering, manufacturing, workshop, maintenance or similar environment

  • Strong in Excel (lookups, pivots, data manipulation, trackers)

  • Able to use or quickly learn MS Project or other planning software

  • Confident communicating with production teams, supervisors and project staff

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail

  • Able to stay calm when plans change (because they will!)

  • Keen to ask questions, understand issues and keep information flowing

Experience in a busy engineering or operational environment would be highly beneficial.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary £28,000-£32,000 (DOE)

  • Early Friday finish (1.30pm)

  • Private medical insurance

  • Contributory pension

  • Full-time, secure and stable engineering role

  • Real progression potential into planning or project management
