Location: Batley, WF17 5JE
Working Hours: Weekend Days – Sat & Sun 7am-7pm
Payrates: Rotating dayshift – £12.90 per hour
Contract type: Full time, perm (paid monthly)

About the role:
To provide an efficient and safe operation of processing equipment, whilst checking quality attribute and specification along with complying with Company Food Safety, Health & Safety, Quality and Hygiene requirements i.e., factory dress code and hand washing procedure.
Key responsibilities:
- Complete prestart checks. (H&S/FS/QA)
- Ensure there is regular communication with the Line/Process Leader and other team members
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the department’s kit/equipment
- Complete specification and quality checks as and when required
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures
- Adhere to all technical and food safety policies and procedures
- Fault diagnosis and problem solving
- Liaise with the engineering team when required
- Carry out machine changeovers when required
- Conduct line cleaning to required specifications
- Conduct a thorough handover and takeover during each shift
- Start-up & shut down the line in accordance with procedures
- Train other/new team members when required, (upon achieving the relevant competency)
- Learn other plant and equipment when requested
Key Ingredients for suitable candidates include:
Essential Requirements:
- English Communication Skills - Ability to speak, read, and understand English to follow instructions, adhere to safety procedures, and communicate effectively with team members.
- Basic Numeracy - Capable of performing simple calculations to support operational tasks
- Attention to Detail - Skilled in monitoring processes, identifying inconsistencies, and accurately completing documentation, including recording checks and line operations
- Hygiene Awareness - Committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment
- Machine Operation - Experience operating machinery and a basic understanding of mechanical processes is beneficial, though full training will be provided.
Desirable but Not Essential:
- Quality Focus - Dedicated to maintaining high standards throughout production to ensure products meet specifications and customer expectations.
- Time Management - Able to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Level 2 Food Safety Certification - Preferred but not essential - Training will be provided
