We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our community-focused and thriving rural primary school. Our Forest School provision in a key element of our core curriculum offer ensuring every child regularly connects with the outdoors.

The Role

As our HLTA with responsibility for Forest School and pastoral support, you will:

• Lead engaging Forest School sessions that encourage curiosity, resilience, and teamwork in our natural rural setting;
• Work closely with teachers to plan and deliver exciting, meaningful learning experiences both indoors and outdoors;
• Provide warm, proactive pastoral support, ensuring children feel nurtured, heard and ready to succeed;
• Cover classes as required, ensuring consistency and high-quality learning;
• Embody and promote the values of NEST throughout daily school life.

What We’re Looking For

We would love to hear from you if you:

• Hold HLTA status (as a school, we are able to support in undertaking this training for the right candidate);
• Have Forest School training or are keen to undertake it;
• Are passionate about outdoor learning and understand the benefits of a rural learning environment;
• Have excellent communication skills and a nurturing approach to behaviour support;
• Are committed to teamwork, collaboration, and supporting every child to thrive;
• Bring creativity, empathy, and enthusiasm to all aspects of your role.
