Summary

Location: Southwick
Position Type: Full-time, working up to 42 hours per week (24 hours guaranteed)
Working Pattern: Day shifts (07:45–20:00) 4 days one week and 3 days the following week (including alternate weekends)
Expected Start Date: Mid-February 2026

We are now expanding our services with the opening of our brand-new Short Breaks Service in Southwick, providing much-needed short break opportunities for individuals and families in the local community. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding team at the very start of a new service designed to make a genuine difference.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking compassionate and dedicated Wellbeing Support Practitioners to join our Southwick Short Breaks team. If you have experience supporting adults with complex needs and are passionate about helping people live meaningful and independent lives, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll provide tailored support to individuals with a variety of needs, ensuring their wellbeing, safety, and independence. This includes assisting with personal care, administering medication, PEG feeding, and encouraging engagement in enjoyable and enriching activities. Every day will be different, and every day you’ll be helping someone to live life their way.
Your Rota
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Hours: 07:45 – 20:00
Key Responsibilities
Person-Centred Care: Deliver high-quality, individualised support that reflects each person’s goals, preferences, and aspirations.
Promote Independence: Empower people to develop daily living skills and confidence to live as independently as possible.
Community Inclusion: Support individuals to access social, recreational, and educational opportunities within the community.
Emotional Support: Build positive relationships that promote emotional wellbeing and trust.
Advocacy: Encourage and support individuals to make informed choices about their lives.
Health and Wellbeing: Administer medication, support healthcare appointments, and encourage healthy habits.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records in line with Cura Care UK’s standards and CQC regulations.
Essential Criteria
Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, or mental health conditions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, patient, and understanding approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of safeguarding principles
Understanding of personal care and medication support
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable Criteria
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards)
First Aid certification
Experience planning and delivering recreational activities
