Part-time Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a happy and engaging 17 year old living in the Penarth area. I have a diagnosis of ASD, GAD & ADHD. I also have anxiety. I love to sing and I love being active. I attend a signing group & youth club. I enjoy visiting the climbing centre, swimming, walking and going shopping.
I can be very tactile and I have very little awareness of boundaries. If I see an animal whilst out in the community (especially dogs), I will run to them and begin smoothing them. I have very little danger awareness and will approach strangers.
PURPOSE OF JOB
Personal Assistant to help improve my safety and independence skills in the community & attend groups with me.
HOURS OF WORK
3 hours per week, to be worked flexibly
After school or during the weekend
RATES OF PAY
£14.30 per hour
£0.40 per mile, 20 miles per week
TASKS INVOLVED
Support me with social outing and community activities safety and appropriately
Driving me in your car
Helping me with my confidence and independence
Going out for a walk with me
Act as a friend/companion
Ensure my safety at all times
Any other reasonable tasks
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Reliable, trustworthy & punctual
Friendly and chatty
Someone who is active with a youthful attitude
Someone with an understanding of my conditions
Car driver/owner with business class insurance
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.
The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
