Summary
Teacher of Computer Science
MPS/UPS
ECTs encouraged to apply
Permanent
I am currently recruiting for a permanent Teacher of Computer Science on behalf of a forward-thinking secondary school in Watford, Hertfordshire. The school can offer start dates in January 2026, April 2026 or September 2026, and welcomes applications from both ECTs and experienced teachers with a genuine passion for Computing and digital literacy.
You will be joining a growing Computer Science department that is well resourced and highly valued by the school. As Teacher of Computer Science, you will deliver engaging lessons at KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to teach KS5 Computer Science or related qualifications for the right candidate. The curriculum includes programming, algorithms, data representation, networks and the ethical implications of technology, and you will play a role in shaping how these concepts are brought to life in the classroom.
The school is looking for someone who can combine strong subject knowledge with a practical, inspiring approach to teaching. ECTs will receive excellent support, including regular observations, mentoring and targeted CPD to help you develop quickly and confidently. For experienced colleagues, there may be scope for additional responsibility within Computing or across the wider STEM offer, and TLRs may be available for the right person who can support curriculum leadership, enrichment or digital strategy.
If a Teacher of Computer Science role in Watford sounds like the right next step for you, please contact me to discuss your background and your aspirations. I will provide detailed information about the department and the school, help you decide which start date - January, April or September 2026 - suits you best and support you fully with your application and interview preparation.
