Summary

English Teacher
- Permanent teaching post
- flexible start date
- ECTs encouraged to apply
- MPS/UPS (Inner London)
- QTS/PGCE Essential or be working towards

I am partnering with a popular 11-18 secondary school in Ealing to appoint a permanent English Teacher. The school can offer start dates in January 2026, April 2026 or September 2026 and is open to applications from both ECTs and experienced English specialists. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-regarded English department and to make a real difference to pupils' progress and confidence.

As an English Teacher, you will teach across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to deliver A Level English for the right candidate. The department has a rich and varied curriculum that includes a wide range of literature, non-fiction and opportunities for creative and analytical writing. You will work closely with colleagues to plan engaging lessons, share resources and moderate assessments, with a strong focus on securing excellent outcomes at GCSE and beyond.

From the school's perspective, they are looking for someone who can inspire a love of reading, refine students' written and spoken communication and maintain high expectations for all learners. ECTs will benefit from a structured induction, regular support from an experienced mentor and targeted CPD. More experienced colleagues may be considered for additional responsibilities, with TLRs potentially available for those who can support curriculum leadership, literacy initiatives or mentoring within the department.

If you would like to find out more about this English Teacher role in Ealing, please get in touch. I will take the time to understand your experience and preferences, talk you through the school's offer and support you fully from initial conversation through to interview and appointment.
