Our client, a highly regarded educational institution in Rochdale, Lancashire, is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Full-time Sports Coaches & Sport Graduates to join their exceptional team as SEN Support. As a Sports Coach & Sport Graduate - SEN Support, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and inclusive sports programmes tailored to the unique needs of our students. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualised sports programmes that cater to the specific needs and abilities of students with SEN
- Collaborate with the SEN team to ensure a holistic approach to student development and well-being
- Provide one-on-one support and guidance to students during sports activities, promoting their physical, social, and emotional growth
- Adapt sports equipment and modify activities to ensure accessibility and participation for all students
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and updates to parents, teachers, and the SEN team
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal achievement
- Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEN support and sports coaching
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field
- Proven experience working with students with special educational needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Creativity and adaptability in developing and modifying sports programmes to meet individual student needs
- First Aid and safeguarding certifications (can be obtained upon appointment)
- Passion for sports and a genuine commitment to supporting the growth and development of young people
