Summary

Early Years Course Leader (Level 2) | Burton upon Trent (DE14) | £21.50 - £26.50 Per Hour | Temp to Perm | Start: 12/01/2026 | Working 3 Days a week Including Admin Time

An outstanding FE College is seeking a motivated Early Years Course Leader to join the Faculty of Education and Childcare. You'll lead and deliver engaging Early Years programmes, primarily at Level 2, to learners aged 16-19 studying vocational childcare pathways. With two Level 2 groups following the same curriculum, you will deliver high-quality sessions that nurture student confidence, develop practical skills, and prepare learners for progression into the Early Years sector.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across Level 1 and Level 2 Early Years courses
- Teach two Level 2 groups, following a repeated delivery model
- Timetable includes: 3 days per week. Within this you also have admin time which can go anywhere in your free slots.
- Plan, prepare, and assess engaging lessons aligned with Early Years standards
- Provide constructive feedback and track learner progress
- Support learners in meeting qualification requirements and preparing for assessments
- Maintain high standards in the delivery of all Early Years programmes
- Carry out internal moderation and course leadership duties as required
- Keep up to date with Early Years curriculum developments, frameworks, and sector regulations

What We're Looking For
- Someone who can start week commencing 12th January 2026
- A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply ASAP)
- Relevant Early Years industry experience and/or course leadership background
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Early Childhood Education, Primary

Education, or similar (highly preferred)
- Strong understanding of child development theories, EYFS frameworks, and sector guidelines
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies
- A learner-focused, nurturing approach with a commitment to supporting holistic child development
- Qualified to (or willing to work towards) Level 2 English and Maths
