Location: Bartley Green, Birmingham B32 - Easily accessible from Northfield, Quinton, Harborne, and surrounding areas
Day Rate: £105 - £115
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: January 2026 - Immediate for the right candidate
Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm

Long Term Futures are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils across KS3 and KS4 at a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Bartley Green. This role suits someone confident supporting a range of needs including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language, and cognition & learning.

Your Role Will Include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group SEND support
- Helping pupils regulate emotions and behaviours throughout the day
- Supporting curriculum access in English, maths, science, and wider subjects
- Implementing personalised support plans and EHCP targets
- Assisting with transitions, routines, and behaviour support strategies
- Giving feedback to teachers, SENCO, and pastoral teams
- Building trusting, professional relationships with pupils who require consistency
- Supporting interventions that boost literacy, numeracy, and social communication

We're Looking For:
- Experience supporting young people with SEND in a school, PRU, or youth work setting
- Strong behaviour management skills and patience during challenging moments
- Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
- Ability to follow behaviour plans, regulation techniques, and escalation protocols
- Resilience, reliability, and commitment to long-term consistency
- Confidence working alongside teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral teams
- Awareness of the secondary curriculum
- A nurturing, calm, and adaptable approach
