Summary


We are looking to recruit a band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our Faster Diagnosis Service at the Liverpool University Hospital Group.

The CNS will provide a service assessing people with suspected cancer symptoms and to expedite diagnosis within 28 days. It will include providing an earlier and faster diagnosis and also supporting patients through the diagnostic process

We are looking for a committed professional to join our current workforce to work closely within the established team and work alongside other agencies to develop our current and future service models.

Patient assessment through verbal communication and clinical skills.

Manging the patient pathway in line with the FDS framework.

Coordinating the pathway by liaising with other services to coordinate and manage patients through the pathway.

Acting as a point of contact for patients and their families, friends and carers.

We are currently looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and compassionate person who will help to improve the patient experience and support the team to achieve the relevant targets that are defined in the pathway. We are looking for a person with experience and the proven ability to build productive relationships with patients, the wider Multi-Disciplinary team, General Practitioners and external departments and agencies.

We are looking to recruit a person with Colorectal experience, able to demonstrate leadership, the ability to make decisions about patient’s management, a person who will be a strong advocate for patient care, treatment and safety with excellent communication skills. You will be asked to support the team in their continual development of the service and clinical practices to ensure improvements are made to the service for the patients. We are looking for evidence of continued development.
