Summary
A part-time Band 7 Enhanced Practice Sonographer vacancy has arisen to support the provision of Non-Obstetric Ultrasound (NOUS) across the Trust.
This post is open to qualified sonographers as well as those currently undergoing training. Trainees or experienced Band 6 staff in training will be appointed at Band 6, with progression to Band 7 following a preceptorship period and development of autonomous practice.
The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring, interpreting, analysing, and reporting a wide range of ultrasound examinations, either across multiple specialties or within an area of special interest. You will contribute significantly to the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of the Trust’s ultrasound services.
The role will be based at St Albans City Hospital and Hemel Hempstead Hospital, with occasional ad-hoc cover at Watford General Hospital or the Elstree community clinic.
The duties and responsibilities of the post holder include:
• To contribute to the operational duties of the ultrasound departments services across West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals Trust. Including maternity, general, inpatients and acute referrals.
• To be an effective member of the Ultrasound team, promoting the trust values through our workforce.
• Provide a high standard of Sonographer/ultrasound services to radiologists and patients.
• Complete ultrasound examinations to a high standard.
• Supervision of junior staff, international recruits and students through induction and training programmes.
