The post holder will be expected to undertake the following responsibilities: To participate and contribute to the planning and delivery of rheumatology services; including high quality, evidenced based and multidisciplinary care for rheumatology patients in an outpatient setting and provide support and advice for inpatients as needed. To develop and strengthen the Rheumatology service. Work constructively as part of the MDT to provide optimal care to patients with suspected and confirmed inflammatory arthritis. Participate in the outpatient management of general rheumatology patients. Supervision of junior doctors and providing clinical leadership to the Rheumatology team and working with colleagues in other departments. Ongoing education of medical students, junior and senior doctors, nursing staff and allied healthcare professionals. Engage with colleagues in Primary Care to optimise referral of patients to the rheumatology and osteoporosis services in accordance with the service referral prioritisation process. Commit towards personal development and engage with the requirements for Continuing Professional Development, Appraisal and Revalidation.
