Summary

We are an Alternative Provision offering an individualised educational package for Primary and Secondary aged young people; having complex needs and disengaged from mainstream education.

Due to the launch of an additional site in 2026, offering a wider subject range to our young people, we are looking to recruit experienced/qualified staff to deliver:

Health and Fitness
Health and Social Care
Hair and Beauty
Motor Mechanics
Design Technology/Carpentry
Forest School/Bushcraft
Prime8 are looking for Candidates who support growth mindset, in keeping with our ethos. Based at our Forest School and new vocational hub near Retford.

The position is flexible due the nature of the work, and interested candidates will be considered for full time, part time or ad hoc cover work. There will be exciting opportunities to take ownership of aspects of what Prime8 currently offers and to bring new skills.

We are looking for people who have worked in a similar setting and have something new to offer, or people who have experience with transferable skills suitable for the role. Hours are term time only but employees are remunerated throughout the school holidays. Pay range indicated is flexible according to experience and teacher status.

You will be required to:

Provide a calming and nurturing support for our vulnerable young people
Be resilient, not easily offended and be able to de-escalate sometimes challenging situations
Lead 1:1 and small group sessions
Show an interest in the young people that you are working with in order that you can build mutually respectful relationships
Desirable skills and attributes:

Ability to relate well to young people with additional needs and experience of working with SEN children/adults would be advantageous
Maths and English at 'O' Level/GCSE (or equivalent) as a minimum
Sense of humour
Remain calm under pressure
Able to maintain and develop effective communication with parents or carers
Able to problem solve and think creatively, especially with regards to complex behaviours
Hold a valid driving license
Computer literate
The successful applicants will require an enhanced DBS and references will be taken up before interview.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time available.
