Summary

We're looking for an Operative with traffic management experience to join our team based at Thimble Mill Lane, Birmingham. This role may involve working nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays, as required. You will also be part of the stand-by and call-out rota, supporting the delivery of works in line with KPI deadlines. A driving licence is an essential requirement for this role.

Location: Thimble Mill Lane, Birmingham

Hours: Permanent Fulltime 40 hours per week

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per year + Overtime + Callout

What will you be responsible for?

As an Operative, you'll support the Birmingham Highways Management & Maintenance Service (BHMMS) Project in all aspects of Highways maintenance, this will include. all small highways work, all Traffic Management in line with the Red book.

Your day to day will include:

· Liaise with Supervisor/Manager to deliver all Highways/Traffic Management on time across the network

· Understand the practical requirements of the Project requirements - Output Specification Red Book - and ensure this requirement are always adhered to

· Assist, as directed by either Kier management or the Police, with Highways Emergencies to ensure the Project Roads are available for the maximum amount of time practicable using the correct Traffic Management in line with the red book



What are we looking for?

This role of Operative is great if you:

· Have knowledge of Health and Safety especially relating to Traffic Management highways operations Relevant essential qualifications in Traffic Management, Incident response, Winter Maintenance, Highway maintenance operational tasks, health & Safety

· Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) - Skilled Worker or higher

· T1/M1, T2/M2

· M3 - Lane closure

· M5 - Multiway lights
