Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and experienced SENCO and class teacher to lead and coordinate our provision for 3 days a week and to teach Yr 1 for 2 days a week (Thursdays and Fridays).

This is very exciting opportunity to join Attleborough Primary School as we have recently joined Sapientia Education Trust, an expanding multi-academy Trust with 13 Primary and 9 Secondary schools.

The first six months of employment shall be a probationary period, and employment may be terminated by the Trust during this period at any time on one week’s prior written notice. The Trust may, at its absolute discretion, extend this period for up to a further six months. During this probationary period, performance and suitability for continued employment will be monitored.

As SENCO (0.6) Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays:

You will play a key role in ensuring that every child receives the support they need to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the strategic and operational provision for pupils with SEND. You will be a qualified teacher and hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or NPQ for SEN.

You will:

• Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
• Identify and assess pupils with additional needs and coordinate appropriate interventions.
• Work closely with class teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure inclusive, high-quality teaching.
• Liaise with external agencies, including educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and the local authority.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date SEND records, including EHCPs and provision maps.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEND provision across the school.
• Be a qualified teacher and hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or NPQ for SEN.
• Have a proven track record of improving outcomes for pupils with SEND.
• Be a passionate, reflective practitioner with excellent communication and leadership skills.

As Year 1 class teacher (0.4) Thursdays and Fridays
