Teaching Assistant (Level 2) SEMH Support
The Governors of Bickershaw Church of England Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support the teaching and learning of a pupil in KS1 with Communication and Interaction (CI) needs. This role will involve working 1:1 and in small groups, under the direction of the class teacher.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to a pupil with CI needs, both individually and in small groups.
- Implement interventions to support social, emotional and behavioural development.
- Feedback to the class teacher on pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, while also using your own initiative.
Essential Skills and Experience
Experience working with children who have difficulties in:
- Communication and interaction
- Social and emotional wellbeing
- Concentration and motivation
- Excellent behaviour management skills, including positive reinforcement and feedback.
- Good English and Maths skills.
- Emotional resilience and a non-judgemental approach to supporting students with complex needs.
- Ability to be flexible, proactive, and caring in response to the child’s and teacher’s needs.

- A team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Committed to promoting inclusion and positive outcomes for all pupils.
- Willingness to learn and adapt strategies to meet individual needs.
