Midday Assistant
Hours of Posts: 10 hours per week
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 11am to 1pm
Contract Type: Fixed term till 31st August 2026 (in the first instance), Term Time only
Salary Grade: Payscale 1, points 2 to 3 - £24,413 to £24,796 FTE
(the salary will be pro rata to part time and term time hours)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Freshfield Nursery School is looking to appoint a Midday Assistant to support our children during the lunchtime period.
Duties include:
Supervision of children at lunch time
Encouraging children to be independent
Supervising activities both indoors and outdoors
Supporting children in groups or individually to promote confidence and self-esteem
Setting up, cleaning and tidying the dining area
Supervision of safer eating practice
The candidate would ideally:
Have experience of working with young children however this is not essential
Demonstrate high expectations of behaviour
Have experience of working effectively as part of a team
Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with parents
Be able to use their own initiative and have good judgement and common sense when dealing with situations
Be flexible and willing to work with all age groups within the EYFS as required
