An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Sexual Health Advisor within The Northern Contraception, Sexual Health and HIV Service. Our friendly team are based at the Hathersage Centre, which is our Central Manchester hub.

The post holder will be able to undertake duties of seeing patients independently and to participate in clinical duties in line with their banding, experience and competence.

Clinic working hours are Monday to Thursday 8 till 7pm, Friday 8 till 4pm and Saturday till 1pm. Posibility of covering across the Northern services to support staffing may be required.



The post holder is a qualified nurse who will be responsible for ensuring care to patients diagnosed with sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, for information, treatment, health education, partner
notification, health promotion and risk reduction.

You will see patients in a clinical setting to provide discussion specifically around risk reduction and behaviour change. Including implementation of prevention methods. For example, PrEP, vaccinations and Doxy PEP to name a few.

You will provide support for patients newly diagnosed with HIV from clinic or external testing. Ensuring awareness of HIV, reducing stigma and collaborating with the HIV clinical nurses specialists.

Results management and administration duties will be required to facilitate patients getting their results/treatment within a timely manner to prevent onward transmission. Including, partner notification to meet KPI's.

You will provide direct patient care and have detailed clinical knowledge of the specialist area. You will assist in ensuring that high standards of quality of care are delivered & maintained.

The post holder will act as a positive role model within the department for staff, patients and carers.
