Your new company

A brand-new specialist SEND secondary school is opening in September 2025 close to Redhill. The school will support young people aged 11-16 with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing needs, often associated with Autism. With small class sizes, high levels of classroom support, and a dedicated multidisciplinary intervention team, the school offers a personalised curriculum designed to help every student thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Your new role

We are seeking a dedicated THRIVE Practitioner to join the founding team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the school's journey from the very beginning. The THRIVE Practitioner will work closely with the Pastoral Lead, SENDCo, and wider staff team to deliver a THRIVE provision that supports pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development. Your role will be key in helping students engage positively with their learning and wider school life.
Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Emotional Development: Use specialist skills and training to support pupils' emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Provision Management: Assist in the day-to-day running of the THRIVE provision, including timetables, planning, and activities tailored to individual pupils.
  • Positive Relationships: Build strong, supportive connections with students, acting as a role model and responding to their individual needs.
  • Creative Learning: Provide play and arts-based experiences that encourage learning through exploration and enjoyment.
  • Targeted Support: Deliver sessions 1:1, in small groups, and within class settings.
  • Family Engagement: Work constructively with parents and families, contributing to feedback and progress discussions.
  • Inclusive Practice: Promote acceptance and inclusion across the school community.
  • Progress Monitoring: Support assessment, maintain accurate records, and provide feedback to staff, students, and families.
  • Staff Collaboration: Supervise and support colleagues working with pupils' emotional and behavioural development.
  • Training Contribution: Assist in embedding the THRIVE Approach across the school through staff training and development.
