Summary
We are urgently looking for an experienced Locum Substance Misuse/Detox Nurse (RMN or RGN) to join our client's team in Walsall, West Midlands.
Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week) Dates: early December-3 months (Temporary Contract, will be reviewed after 3 months) Pay Rate: between £34 to £39/hr PAYE or umbrella (no limited companies)
Your new roleUndertake physical and mental health assessments for service users and ensure appropriate sign posting/referral to primary care or appropriate secondary health care services for identified health issues.To undertake Nurse Alcohol Assessments and determine safe detoxificationFibroscanningTo deliver Buvidal clinics (long-acting Buprenorphine injections)Assist in the titration process for opiate service users.To provide screening for BBV, through dry blood spot testing and support to access Hep C treatmentTo provide Hepatitis B vaccinations when needed.Offer wound care assessment and basic wound dressing to service users.
Essential Qualifications and ExperienceCurrent NMC registrationSound and demonstrable knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventionsPrevious experience in a similar role at a Drug Treatment service, Forensic, Prison or other similar backgroundStrong communication and teamwork skills.
