As part of our expanding Engineering team, we are seeking a skilled Joiner to support the delivery of building fabric maintenance and repair services at our client site in Warton, Lancashire.

This role involves carrying out a wide range of planned and reactive joinery tasks, including doors, frames, ironmongery, and general building fabric upkeep. You'll also complete building fabric PPMs, assist with routine inspections, and contribute to maintaining a safe and well-presented estate. The position is physically active, involving manual handling and working at height.

You will be expected to keep our client updated with progress, record completed works using IT systems, highlight remedial actions, and consistently deliver a high standard of customer service. Strong communication skills and confidence using digital reporting tools are essential.

Main Duties

-Carry out a wide range of joinery repairs, including doors, frames, locks, and general woodwork.

-Complete building fabric PPMs in line with statutory and contractual requirements.

-Undertake general building fabric maintenance, such as minor patch repairs, basic flooring works and adjustment of fixtures and fittings.

-Support routine building inspections and condition surveys, reporting any defects or follow-on works required.

-Support subcontractors working on site by providing safe access, escorting when necessary, and coordinating with the subcontractor coordinator.

-Maintain tools, materials and work areas in a safe and organised manner.

-Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with health & safety requirements, permits and site procedures.

-Provide excellent customer service, ensuring building users and stakeholders receive clear updates on work progress.

What We Are Looking For

-A recognised joinery qualification (e.g., City & Guilds or equivalent).

-Proven experience carrying out joinery repairs, maintenance and installation work within a building or facilities environment.

-Strong awareness of health and safety requirements relating to building maintenance.

-Experience using PDA or IT-based systems for reporting, task tracking and completion.

-Must have full UK driving licence.

-Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

-A proactive approach to maintaining building fabric and supporting wider maintenance operations.

-Be flexible and willing to participate in an on-call rota as required
