Summary
The Estate Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across all internal and external communal areas of the estate. Duties include regular cleaning of foyers, staircases, lifts, corridors, and bin stores, as well as scheduled external cleaning. On Mondays and Tuesdays, tasks include vacuuming carpets and mats, cleaning brass and glass on communal and apartment doors, dusting skirtings and dado rails, washing tiled floors, removing cobwebs, disinfecting bin chutes, sanitising entry keypads and handles, and maintaining lifts and stairwells in both East and West Foyers. Atrium and floor areas are also cleaned and dusted, with balcony sweeping and ashtray maintenance carried out weekly. Wednesdays are dedicated to the East Pavilion, including vacuuming and sanitising lifts and staircases, wiping paintwork, mopping tiled floors, dusting light fittings, cleaning brass and railings, disinfecting bin chutes, and ensuring entrance areas are clean and sanitised. On Thursdays, similar duties are performed in the West Pavilion, including additional sanitisation of fire exit keypads and handles. Fridays focus on external cleaning on a rotating monthly schedule: cleaning benches, gates, lamp posts, and signage; sweeping and litter-picking garages and pathways; deep-cleaning bin stores; and jet washing hard surfaces quarterly. The cleaner also checks bins every Monday and Thursday to ensure waste is disposed of correctly before collection. The role requires attention to detail, consistency, and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all residents and visitors.
