Our Team Leaders play a critical role in helping deliver justice, this role will enable you to demonstrate and develop your leadership skills. You are responsible for making sure your team deliver excellent administrative support and customer service to service users, judiciary and management.

We have 2 roles available:
1 Permanent position-based at Norwich Magistrates Court – This is a business-critical role requiring full time hours only (37 hours per week over 5 days) please note that this role will include covering accommodation responsibilities for the Norwich Magistrate Court outlined below. Occasional travel to local HMCTS sites may be required for cover when needed.
1 Fixed Term Contract, up to 12 months based at either Norwich Magistrates Court or Ipswich Magistrates Court – Applications for part-time working would be considered, however the minimum days required per week is 3 full days. Occasional travel to either Norwich Magistrates or Ipswich Magistrates will be required for cover when needed.
Ability to motivate and support your team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve effective performance.
Experience of working in an administrative role in a customer-focussed environment
Work travel expenses will be paid in accordance with organisational policies.

Leading your team, you’ll focus on the team’s area of work, making sure that work is prioritised and organised and your team fully skilled to meet objectives. As an effective Team Leader, you recognise the importance of the team’s overall wellbeing and can motivate your team to succeed.
The role of permanent Team Leader includes covering accommodation responsibilities for the Norwich Magistrate’ Court
You will contribute to the delivery of operational, performance and service standard targets and provide statistical data for the management team and judiciary. Your keen eye for detail and desire for continuous improvement is key to your success. Monitoring and analysing performance areas and trends, conducting ongoing reviews of procedures and work practices is essential, as is your ability to successfully recommend improvements, navigate change and manage the implementation of new initiatives and legislation.
This is a challenging and rewarding role, key to the smooth running of operational functions throughout HMCTS. This provides a wide range of activities from development programmes to accessible bite-size guides to help build your ability and confidence to lead, guide and inspire others.
Your skills and experience
IT proficient with the ability to learn and adapt to different technologies and software packages.

These operational roles are customer facing, requiring successful applicants to be office based to provide HMCTS services to the public.
Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs and are agreed prior to appointment. All applications for part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns will be considered in accordance with the MoJ’s Flexible Working policy.
Locational appointment.
The reserve list for this campaign will be managed in accordance with location preference/s, as indicated in your application. We will appoint in merit list order for each location outlined in the vacancy and hold a separate locational reserve list for each of these locations. After appointments have been made using this locational appointment process, any remaining candidates who met the benchmark for the role will remain on a locational reserve list in accordance with their preferences for 12 months. Please only indicate preferences where you are prepared to work. If you are subsequently offered a role from the reserve list for a location preference indicated in your application and decline it, you will be removed from the reserve list for the vacancy, across all locational preferences.
