Summary

We are looking for an exceptional individual to support our 18-year-old son as Private Personal Assistant. Our son has Autism and Epilepsy and lives at home in a supportive, family-oriented environment.

The main duties are: -

• To support our son on a one-to-one basis to become more independent and develop skills to do more for himself.
• To support our son to maintain and develop daily living skills.
• To assist our son with recreational activities.
• To organise and participate in events, activities and experiences with our son.
• To ensure safety at all times for our son
• To transport our son to and from our home and various locations as necessary. Mileage will be paid if using your own car.
• To undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties as specified.

The following are ESSENTIAL requirements for this post:

• The ability to work on a one-to-one basis.
• The ability to communicate effectively with our son and to put our son at the centre of all you do whilst supporting him.
• The ability to take responsibility for his wellbeing and safety.
• To understand and demonstrate a healthy lifestyle and to take a positive and active role in activities with our son.
• To understand the importance of maintaining confidential information.
• The ability to cope under pressure and in stressful situations whilst maintaining security and stability for our son.
• To be reliable, punctual, and honest.
• To possess a full clean driving licence and be able to drive a car for use in taking our son between our home and various other locations.
• To always demonstrate respect and dignity
• The ability to always maintain the highest levels of professionalism and integrity in the performance of your duties.
• Previous experience working with young people with learning difficulties
