Summary
Your working day will consist of a mixture of face to face and telephone consultations and associated administrative work, in addition to - occasional home visits (we have Home Visiting paramedics employed each day but some EOL visits require a GP to attend) - own referrals and admin - filing lab results (your own and a share of absent colleagues') - signing prescriptions (your own and a share of absent colleagues') - supervision of students / registrars - management of a care home (we look after 7 large care homes) Our GPs work in sessions. Each session consists of 13 appointment slots for a mixture of telephone or F2F appointments plus an additional 2 "GP only to book" slots for your personal use. GPs may choose their own appointment length. We have a mixture of GPs who prefer 10, 12 or 15 minute slots. We have a Duty Doctor rota, which equates to roughly one day per fortnight, where the rota'd GP does not have prebooked routine appointments and manages the day's triage of online consultations and booking patients into available 'same day' slots with colleagues.
