Summary

Are you an experienced Research and Innovation professional looking to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive Universities? Are you able to build excellent, effective working relationships with academics, clinicians and our NHS partner(s)? Do you have a background in developing and delivering high value and high-quality innovation and research translation funding applications along with experience in monitoring/tracking delivery of objectives, intellectual property (IP) and partnerships?

The NIHR Leeds Biomedical Research Centre is an international centre of excellence which exists to provide infrastructure to support translational research across our 6 themes: musculoskeletal disease, cardiometabolic disease, surgical technologies, haematology, pathology and antimicrobial resistance.

We are looking for a professional and proactive individual to work with our research themes and across existing research support and innovation structures within the partnership to help us attract significant new research funding built on the early translational and experimental medicine research outcomes. Importantly this includes the next BRC funding application.

You will have experience of working across disciplinary borders and of developing and implementing research and innovation strategies in complex organisations. You will have excellent project management skills, experience of working with academic teams in the development of successful external funding applications and the ability to build performance-based partnerships with public, private and third-sector organisations.

In addition, as a member of the Leeds BRC Senior Operations Team, you will play a major role in the high-level co-ordination of the BRC’s activities, including reporting, planning and performance monitoring, medium and long-term strategic development, and signpost best practice to produce, protect and track our IP and knowledge.

Possessing a degree or relevant experience in a medical or healthcare subject and with experience gained in industry, academia or NHS, you will have experience of developing research and innovation in complex organisations, excellent project management skills, and the ability to build effective partnerships.
