Pupil Referral Unit (Secondary)
We are seeking a committed and resilient Maths Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking PRU working with KS3 and KS4 students. This Maths Teacher role is a temp to perm opportunity ideal for a educator who thrives in small-group teaching and understands the importance of relational practice when working with pupils who have behavioural challenges.
About the Role
As a Maths Teacher, you will deliver GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Maths to groups of no more than six learners. The right Maths Teacher will be able to adapt lessons, differentiate effectively, and provide structure and calm for students with complex behavioural and social-emotional needs. This setting offers a unique opportunity for a Maths Teacher who wants to make a genuine impact.
Key Responsibilities
•
As a Maths Teacher, plan and teach engaging Maths lessons for KS3 and KS4.
•
Deliver high-quality GCSE and Functional Skills content in small classes of up to six.
•
Use a trauma-informed, relationship-based approach to behaviour support.
•
Work closely with a dedicated behaviour team to maintain positive routines.
•
Track progress and use assessment to guide interventions.
•
Promote resilience, confidence, and aspiration in every learner.
About You
•
A qualified Maths Teacher (QTS or equivalent).
•
Strong subject knowledge and experience delivering GCSE and/or Functional Skills.
•
A Maths Teacher who is patient, consistent, and emotionally resilient.
•
Experience in a PRU, SEMH school, or alternative provision is beneficial but not essential.
•
Passionate Maths Teacher who believes every student can achieve with the right support.
