We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic complex needs support worker to join a forward-thinking SEN school in Thatcham. This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a supportive and inclusive team making a real impact in the lives of children and young people with additional needs.
The role involves working with pupils across KS1-KS4 who have a range of complex needs, physical disabilities (PD), non-verbal communication needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
The School:
- A warm, inclusive school community with approximately 95 pupils
- Dedicated to nurturing each student's potential through creativity and care
- Supportive leadership team and a collaborative, passionate staff group
The Role:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a variety of complex needs
- Assisting with communication, personal care, and sensory or therapeutic activities
- Working alongside teachers and specialists to deliver individualised support
- Encouraging independence, engagement, and emotional wellbeing
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience supporting students with SEN (particularly PD, SEMH, or non-verbal) is desirable
- Patient, positive, and adaptable
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
